The Stone Mountain Trail is a system of paved pathways and some roads that extends for 19 miles from Downtown Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park to the east of the Atlanta area. The trail starts at Centennial Olympic Park and goes past a number of other parks and attractions along the way.The trail follows the MARTA lines in Decatur and goes past a couple of the stations. At the east end, the trail connects to trails within Stone Mountain Park.
Conditions
The paved pathways are open for bike riding and walking. There are numerous street crossings along the way. Most of the route goes through the urban areas or residential suburbs. Trail users will need to use streets in the Clarkstown and Stone Mountain areas to reach the next section of trail.

The Stone Mountain Trail intersects the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail just west of Freedom Park and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.
End Points
The west end of the Stone Mountain Trail is located at Centennial Olympic Park near Baker Street NW and Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW in Downtown Atlanta. The trail heads east along the walkways of John Portman Boulevard NW. The west end of the separate paved pathway is located at Piedmont Avenue NE, just south of Baker Street NE.
The east end of the trail system is located at Robert E. Lee Boulevard on the east side of the community of Stone Mountain and the west side of Stone Mountain Park.
