Recreational Trails located in: Georgia
The State of Georgia is located in the Southeastern United States.
The cities of Atlanta, Augusta, Athens and Rome each have a system of recreational trails for bike riding, running and walking. Atlanta has numerous lengthy bike paths that follow alongside waterways, travel through parks and natural areas or extend out into the countryside. Augusta has pathways that follow the canals of the Savannah River and the riverfront of the downtown area. Athens has the Oconee River Greenway and the Firefly Trail. Rome has trails along the Oostanaula River and Coosa River, including the riverfront area of its downtown area.
Additionally there is the Silver Comet Trail which is a 62-mile long paved pathway that extends from Smyrna to the border between Georgia and Alabama to the west of Cedartown. The trail was constructed along a historic railroad corridor and goes through the beautiful Georgia countryside.
