The State of Missouri is located in the Central United States. The state has two major urban areas and several smaller cities, but is mostly rural farmland and natural areas. The larger cities in Missouri are St. Louis and Kansas City. the capital of Missouri is Jefferson City, located in the center of the state.

Missouri is split in two by the Missouri River which flows from the western border to join the Mississippi River in St. Louis. The north half of Missouri is that of rolling hills and prairie land. The south part of Missouri is more mountainous and has the area known as the Ozarks. This is a beautiful area with pretty valleys, thick forests and rushing streams.

Missouri has several lengthy recreational trails and the cities will often have their own system of paved pathways.
