The State of North Carolina is located in the Southern United States. The state is situated between Virginia and South Carolina and spans between the Appalachian Mountains and the coastline along the Atlantic Ocean.

There are numerous recreational trails located within the areas of Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Charlotte and  in the area around Goldsboro and Winston-Salem.
