The State of Washington is located in the northwest corner of the continental U.S.A. The topography of the state is that of glacier capped peaks, thick forests, beaches as well as the more desert-like eastern side of the state.

There are recreational trails for cycling, walking, riding and exploring throughout the State of Washington. Many trails take you through the heart of urban areas, others wander through the residential suburbs. A few of the trails are quite long and will take you from one city to another.

You may be looking for a lovely trail to stroll along the waterfront over looking Puget Sound, such as the Elliott Bay Trail. It may be that you are commuting to work and need to find out if there is a trail to get you into the city core, such as the I-90 Trail from Bellevue to Seattle or the Interurban Trail from Everett to Seattle. There are also trails that follow along abandoned railroad lines, with few curves and gentle grades such as the 30-mile long Centennial Trail in the northwestern part of the state that goes north from Snohomish.
