The Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail is a 20-mile long paved pathway that spans between Cresco and Calmar in Northeastern Iowa. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and travels past the farmland of this section of the state. The trail follows alongside Route 9 for half of the route then at Ridegway takes a cross country route to the middle of Calmar.
In Cresco, the trail goes past Northeast Iowa Community College.
Conditions
The Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail i is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, running and walking.

End Points
The northwest end of the Prairie Farmer Recreational Trail is located along2nd Avenue SE at 8th Street E in Cresco.
The southeast end of the trail is located off of Maryville Street at Lewis Street in Calmar.
