Norman is located in central Oklahoma to the south of Oklahoma City. Norman is the home of the University of Oklahoma and is situated to the west of Lake Thunderbird State Park.
Norman has a number of parks with paths for walking or bike riding. There are also trails within some of the neighborhoods.
Legacy Trail
The Legacy Trail is a 4-mile long paved pathway that spans between Legacy Park and the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The trail follows alongside 24th Avenue NW, W. Robinson Street, James Garner Avenue and W. Duffy Street. The trail connects to the trails in Legacy Park, wraps around the airport, goes past the Westwood Park golf course, and passes Andrews Park.
George M. Sutton Wilderness Park Griffin Community Park
The George M. Sutton Wilderness Park is located at 1920 12th Ave. N.E. on the northeast side of the downtown area. George M. Sutton Wilderness Park is north of, and adjacent to, Griffin Community Park.
George M. Sutton Wilderness Park offers lovely natural surfaced trails that wander through the woods and the reservoir. Griffin Community Park has numerous athletic fields and paved walking paths.
