The Marine Drive Trail is a system of multi-use paths that follow alongside Marine Drive on the north side of the Portland Metropolitan Area of Oregon. The trail system extends from Kelley Point Park to Troutdale Airport, a distance of 19 miles with 16.3 miles of separate paved trails. From the trail, there are beautiful views of the Columbia River and the wetlands, natural areas and parks along the river. The trail also goes past Portland International Airport.
Connecting trails include the pedestrian bridge adjacent to Interstate 5 to reach Hayden Island and the bike lane adjacent to the freeway to reach Vancouver, Washington. There is also the I-205 Multi-Use Path that uses the freeway bridge to cross the Columbia River into Vancouver. The I-205 Multi-Use Path extends as far south as Gladstone.
The Marine Drive Trail is part of the 40-Mile Loop system of trails that wrap around the Portland Metropolitan area.
Conditions
The Marine Drive Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail system has several separate sections where trail users will need to travel along Marine Drive to reach the next section. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking.

Lombard Street Trail & Columbia Slough Trail: the three trails meet at the northwest end of Marine Drive near Kelley Point Park..
Interstate 5 Pedestrian Bridge: the two trails intersect at the interchange between Marine Drive and Interstate 5. The pedestrian bridge is separate fromn the freeway and allows bicycles and pedestrians to cross the Columbia River to reach Hayden Island and then use the pedestrian lane that heads over to Vancouver.
I-205 Multi Use Path: the Marina Drive Trail has an access trail that intersects the I-205 Multi-Use Path that then crosses the Columbia River between the north and south bound lanes or heads south into Portland.
40-Mile Loop Trail: the Marine Drive Trail is a portion of the 40-Mile Loop trail system that combines numerous trails that wrap around the Portland area.
End Points
The Marine Drive Trail has multiple separate sections with gaps in between the sections where trail users will need to use Marine Drive to reach the next section.
The west end of the trail system is located at the northwest end of Marine Drive where it turns into N. Lombard Street. This location is adjacent to Kelley Point Park.
The east end of the trail system is located along NW Marine Drive to the east of NW Sundial Road in Troutdale.
