The Montour Trail is a 40-mile long mostly unpaved pathway located to the west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The section in Peters Township is also know as the Arrowhead Trail. Though located near to Pittsburgh, the trail goes through thickly forested areas as well as past residential neighborhoods.
Conditions
The Montour Trail is mostly unpaved with a graded surface of compacted crushed stone. The trail is for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, running and walking. Horseback riding is allowed in some sections on a separate trail.
There are gaps in the trail where trail users will need to use local streets to reach the next section of the trail.

Panhandle Trail: the two trails meet near Noblestown Road in the community of McDonald.
End Points
The north end of the Montour Trail is located on Montour Coketown, to the west of Interstate 79, southeast of Coraopolis. There is a large trailhead with plenty of parking at this location.
The southeast end of the continuous trail is located along Pleasant Street in Bethel Park. Another branch of the Montour Trail ends near Irishtown Road and Logan Road in Bethel Park.
There are serveral long gaps in the trail in the South Park Township and Jefferson Hills area.
The southeast end of the trail is located at N. State Street near Pittsburgh Avenue in Clairton.
