The Red Canyon National Recreational Trail is a 8.6-mile long paved pathway located to the west of the community of Bryce in Southwestern Utah. The trail parallels Utah Scenic Byway 12, east of State Highway 89 and the trail goes past the Red Canyon Visitor Center.
Red Canyon has dramatic scenery and is surrounded by brilliant red cliffs and spires of sandstone. The valley floor is forested in some areas and wide open desert in other areas. This route is used by people heading up to Bryce Canyon National Park. There are several trailheads along the way that allow access to hiking trails in the area.
Conditions
The Red Canyon National Recreational Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for non-motorized use such as bike riding and walking. Heading from west to east, there is a 750 foot elevation gain in the western 5 miles where the trail crests at the top of the canyon at 7829 feet and then drops in elevation.

The Red Canyon National Recreational Trail is 3 miles west of the community of Bryce and is located 42 miles south of Kingston.

End Points
The west end of the Red Canyon National Recreational Trail is located along Utah 12, 2.6-miles from State Highway 89.
The east end of the trail is located along Utah 12, at a point 2.9-miles west of Utah 63.
