The Utah Lake Distribution Canal Trail is a 13 mile long soft-surfaced trail that follows alongside the canal in the south west portion of the Salt Lake City metro area. The trail crosses through residential neighborhoods and past a number of parks and other points of interest. At the south end, the trail allows connections to other major recreational trails.
Conditions
The Utah Lake Distribution Canal Trail is open for non-motorized use such as bike riding, walking and running. The trail is not paved, but has a wide graded surface and gentle grades. There are numerous street crossing along the route.
There is a gap in the trail at the Bangerter Highway. To reach the opposite section of the trail, trail users will need to travel along W. Chamonix Way, S. Hamilton View Road and W 13800 S.

Nearby Trails
Jordan River Parkway Trail: The two trails parallel each other then meet at W. 16580 S in Jordan Narrows Park in Bluffdale. This location is located at the south end of the Utah Lake Distribution Canal Trail.
Utah and Salt Lake Canal Trail: This trail can be reached at Jordan Narrows Park.
Mountain View Corridor Trail: This trail ends a few blocks east of the Utah Lake Distribution Canal Trail and can be reached by traveling along Riverview Drive and 1700 W.
End Points
The north end starts at W 7800 S, just south of the South Valley Regional Airport, in West Jordan.
The south end of the trail is located in Jordan River Park. Jordan River Park is located south of Bluffdale and east of Highway 68. It can be reached by heading east on Jordan Narrows Road.
