The Weber River Parkway is a 8.4-mile long mostly paved pathway that follows the Weber River in Northern Utah. The trail passes through the communities of West Haven, Ogden, Riverdale, Washington Terrace and South Weber. The trail is part of the Centennial Trail which is a proposed 28-mile loop around the Ogden area.
The trail travels through the cottonwood and willows of the greenbelt formed by the river. It passes a number of parks and other attractions. There are relatively few road crossings along the trail and it gives a chance to experience the natural setting in the middle of the urban area. The route includes pretty wooden and steel bridges for crossing waterways.
One of the attractions along the route is Fort Buenaventura Park. This park has a replica of the fort and three cabins as well as historical artifacts on display and a trading post. Events are held at the park.
Conditions
The Weber River Parkway is paved except for the last 2 miles on the south end. It is open for non-motorized use such as bike riding, running and walking. The grade of the trail is relatively flat.
