The North Branch Trail is a 33.5-mile long trail paved system located in the north portion of Chicago, Niles, Morton Grove, Northfield and Glencoe. The trail meanders through the natural areas along the North Branch of the Chicago River and around the Skokie Lagoons. The trail offers a wonderful way to enjoy these natural areas and their wildlife, bird life and forests.
Conditions
The North Branch Trail is paved, but there are many unpaved hiking trails in the area as well. The North Branch Trail is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding and walking. There are numerous other pathways the interweave with the main North Branch Trail or connect with it along the way.

End Points
The north end of the North Branch Trail is located just south of Dundee Road and east of Interstate 94 in the community of Glencoe.
The south end of the North Branch Trail is located at W. Devon Avenue and N. Lehigh Avenue in Chicago.
