Recreational Trails in Covington, Louisiana
Covington is located on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain across the lake from New Orleans in Louisiana. Other communities in this area include: Lewisburg, Mandeville, Lacomb and Wimbledon Estates.
Tammany Trace Bike Trail
The Tammany Trace Bike Trail is a 27.6-mile long paved pathway that spans between Covington and Slidell. Much of the trail follows an abandoned railroad right-of-way.The trail is provides a great way to see the countryside of this area of Louisiana and goes through residential neighborhoods, small towns and forested areas.
The trail starts in historic Downtown Covington then heads east to Abita Springs. From there the trail heads south to the lakefront community of Mandeville. The trail then heads southeast and goes through the thickly forested Fontainebleau State Park. From the park the trail continues to the southeast going through Lacombe and crossing Lacombe Bayou. The east end of the trail is at Nelso Road to the south of Gause Boulevard in Slidell.

Mandeville Lakefront Walk
The Mandeville Lakefront Walk is a 1.7-mile long paved pathway that is located on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville. The walk spans between W. Beach parkway and Jackson Avenue. There are beautiful views of the lake and is a great spot for a sunset stroll.
Pelican Park & Pelican Park Extension
Pelican Park is located in Mandeville along Pelican Drive. The park has numerous athletic fields, a dog park and a skate park. There are walking paths within the park that connect to the 0.6-mile long paved Pelican Park Extension that heads south to connect to the Tammany Trace Bike Trail
