The Keystone Trail is a 16-mile long paved pathway that follows alongside Little Papillon Creek and Big Papillon Creek through the heart of Omaha in Eastern Nebraska. The route extends from Democracy Park on Fort Street to the Kennedy Freeway south of Capehart Road. The trail wanders through the natural areas along the creek and passes numerous local parks, schools, residential neighborhoods, commercial areas and industrial areas. Notable points of interest include the University of Nebraska Omaha Scott Campus and Crossroads Mall.
The Keystone Trail allows a connection to many other recreational trails in the Omaha area, such as the Big Papio Trail, the West Papio Trail and the Bellvue Loop Trail.
Conditions
The Keystone Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. The route is located away from roadways for the most part, though there are a number of street crossings. There are underpasses for several of the road crossings along the way.

Boulevard Trail: the two trails meet at Pacific Street to the east of 72nd Street.
Field Club Trail: the two trails meet to the norht of L Street and east of S. 67th Street.
Big Papio Trail: trail users can connect between the two trails at Q Street to the east of 72nd Street or at Harrison Street near Seymour Smith Park.
West Papio Trail: the two trails meet near S 36th Street and Cedar Island Road in Bellevue.
Bellevue Loop Trail: the two trails meet at the south end of the Keystone Trail at S. 13th Street off of Capehart Road, just east of the Kennedy Freeway in Bellevue. The Bellevue Loop Trail is a paved 9-mile long pathway that wraps back to the north following the Missouri River and stops at Haworth Park in Bellevue.
End Points
The northwest end of the Keystone Trail is located at Democracy Park at Fort Street and Templeton Drive in Omaha.
The southeast end of the trail is located at S. 13th Street off of Capehart Road, just east of the Kennedy Freeway in Bellevue.
