The Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail, D&RGW Rail Trail, is a 24-mile long paved pathway that extends from the boundary of West Haven and Roy to W 400 N in West Bountiful, to the north of Salt Lake City in Northern Utah. The trail is a rail-trail which means that it was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way.
Conditions
The trail is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, walking and running. The trail is paved for the entire route and is quite straight. There are numerous street crossings along the route.

The Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail intersects numerous neighborhood trails and walking paths in the local parks. It also intersects two major recreational trails in the area, the Farmington Creek Trail and the Legacy Parkway Trail.
Farmington Creek Trail: The Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail Trail intersects the Farmington Creek Trail at a point east of S 1100 W and north of W 500 S in Farmington. The Farmington Creek Trail wanders through Farmington to the foothills where it meets up with the Boneville Shoreline Trail.
Legacy Parkway Trail: The Legacy Parkway Trail meets up with the Denver and Rio Grande Western Trail at N 900 W and W 1275 in Centerville. The two trails share the path until the point where the Legacy Parkway roadway takes a curve to the west north of Porter Lane.
