Recreational trails for walking and cycling in Prescott & Prescott Valley, Arizona
Prescott and Prescott Valley are located about 75 miles north of Downtown Phoenix in Central Arizona. This area has several recreational trails that provide an opportunity for enjoying the sights, getting some exercise or getting about town.
Peavine Trail
The Peavine Trail is a 6-mile long unpaved pathway that is located in the hills northeast of Prescott and southwest of Highway 89. The trail extends from a point near the Prescott Municipal Airport to Prescott Lakes Parkway. The Peavine Trail intersects the Iron King Trail which heads east as far as N. Glassford Hill Road. the Peavine Trail goes past Watson Lake and Tri-City College Prep High School.
The north end of the Peavine Trail is located at the end of Avenger to the east of Corsair Avenue in the industrial park near the airport. The south end is located just north of Prescott Lakes Parkway, to the east of Highway 89. There is a large trailhead on Sundog Ranch Road.
Iron King Trail
The Iron King Trail is a 4-mile long unpaved pathway that extends from its intersection with the Peavine Trail to a point near Santa Fe Loop Road and Glassford Hill Road.
Other trails in Prescott Valley area include the Pioneer Park Trail, the Willow Lake Trail and the Prescott Valley Multi-use Pathway.
Willow Lake Trail
The Willow Lake Trail is a 3.3-mile long pathway located on the north side of Prescott. The trail winds around the lake passing residential neighborhoods, Jim McCasland Willow Creek Park, Heritage Park and ends at Willow Lake Park. The trail has no street crossings.
