Northern California has lush redwood forests, snow-capped volcanic peaks, the ski resorts of Lake Tahoe and picturesque beaches along the Pacific Ocean. This less populated area of the state is a destination for getting back to nature, camping, hiking, cycling and walking along deserted sandy beaches with the waves crashing over the rocks.

For things to do, you could drive up Highway 1 and see the quaint little towns along the coast. There are also beautiful routes inland to see Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta. The State of Oregon is just to the north and the casinos of Reno, Nevada are to the east.
