The Western Reserve Greenway is a 45.4-mile long paved and unpaved path that spans between the communities of Ashtabula and Warren in Northeastern Ohio. The trail uses the route of the former PennCentral railroad right-of-way. A total of 27 miles of the trail is in Ashtabula County and the remainder is in Trumbull County. The Western Reserve Greenway is a part of the Great-Ohio-Lake-To-River Greenway, GOLTRG trail system that when completed will stretch between Lake Erie and the Ohio River.
The trail travels across wide open countryside, through farmland and thickly forested sections as well as through rural and urban communities. Much of the route is quite rural and has few road crossings.
Conditions
The Western Reserve Greenway is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, walking, running and horseback riding.

Nearby Trails
Niles Greenway & Metroparks Bikeway: the Niles Greenway starts in the middle of Niles, 3.2 miles south of the south end of the Western Reserve Greenway. The Niles Greenway heads to the south where it meets the Metroparks Bikeway in Mineral Ridge.
End Points
The north end of the Western Reserve Greenway is located at W. 52nd Street and Madison Avenue in Ashtabula. There is a trailhead located at West Avenue and W. 55th Street.
There are a few short gaps in the trail within Warren where trail users will need to use local streets to get to the next section. The south end of the Western Reserve Greenway is located at Burton Street SE and Thomas Road SE in Warren.
