Roanoke River Greenway - Roanoke
The Roanoke River Greenway is a paved pathway that travels through the parks and natural areas alongside the river. The section of the greenway in Roanoke is continuous for 7 miles and spans from Bridge Street SW to Bennington Street SE. Another 0.7-mile long paved section of the Roanoke River Greenway trail is 0.6-miles east of Bennington Street SE. This section can be reached using local streets and it connects to the 1.2-mile long Tinker Creek Trail. that. The Tinker Creek Trail crosses the river with a pedestrian bridge then heads north as far as Wise Avenue SE.
The Roanoke River Greenway goes past Ghent Hill Park, Vic Thomas Park, Wasena Park, Highland Park, Smith Park, River's Edge Sports Complex, Piedmont Park, Mill Mountain Park and Bennington Park.
Roanoke River Greenway - Salem
The Roanoke River Greenway that is located in Salem is a 3.4-mile long paved pathway that spans between Mill Lane and Salem Park on Electric Road. The trail goes past Ted Weber Park, James I Moyer Sports Complex, Riverside Park and Salem Park.
Lick Run Greenway
The Lick Run Greenway is a 4-mile long paved pathway that is located just north of Downtown Roanoke. The trail spans between the Salem Avenue and Valley View Mall. The route of the trail includes Washington Park, Lincoln Terrace Elementary School, Brown Roverson Park, a pedestrian bridge over Interstate 581, Valley View Mall and Huff Lane Park.
