The West Orange Trail is a 20.8 mile long paved pathway located on the south and east side of Lake Apopka in Orange County, Florida. The trail goes through Oakland, Winter Garden and Apopka to the west of Orlando. The trail was constructed partially along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and includes a few historic railroad stations. The trail foes through the residential areas passing local parks and several schools and also through miles of uninterrupted woodlands and wetlands.
The route of the trail starts to the south of Lake Apopka where it meets up with the South Lakes Trail at Kilarney Station off of W. Colonial Drive. From this point the trail uses an over pass to cross Florida's Turnpike. The West Orange Trail then takes a big loop to the southeast side of the lake going through Downtown Winter Garden and Downtown Apopka. The north end of the trail is at W. Welch Road and Rock Springs Road in Apopka.
