Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in Tallahassee, Florida
Tallahassee is located in the Florida Panhandle and is the capital of the State of Florida. The city is home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University. The city is situated to the northeast of the Apalachicola National Forest and is about 24 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico.
There are a number of recreational trails located in Tallahassee for bike riding, walking and running.
Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail
The Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail is a 20.5-mile long paved pathway that extends from the middle of Tallahassee to the community of St. Marks. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and travels past the urban and residential areas of Tallahassee, then follows alongside State Route 363 and then Old Woodville Road through the community of Woodville. South of Woodville, the trail goes through a thickly wooded area for several miles until it reaches the community of St. Marks, stopping at the marina on St. Marks River.
The north end of the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail is located at Gambles Street and Stearns Street, a few blocks west of the Florida A&M University campus.

Capital Circle SE Trail
The Capital Circle SE Trail is a paved pathway that follows alongside Florida State Highway 310 on the southeast side of the city. There is about 6.6 miles of separated pathway that extends from just east of Crawfordville Road to a point south of the intersection with the Apalachee Parkway. North of this intersection, there is an pathway that is attached to the roadway.
The Capital Circle SE Trail intersects the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail at the Woodville Highway interchange.
Lafayette Heritage Trail
The Lafayette Heritage Trail is located on the east side of Tallahassee near Upper Lake Lafayette and Piney Z Lake. The trail is unpaved and in various states of condition. The route goes through the woodlands and then around the south lake.
Miccosukee Greenway
The Miccosukee Greenway is a 3.25-mile long unpaved pathway alongside Miccosukee Road on the northeast side of Tallahassee.
Blair Stone Road Trail
The Blair Stone Road Trail is a 2.5-mile long paved path that follows alongside the road from Centerville Road to E. Park Avenue on the south side of Governor's Park.
