The Four Freedoms Trail is a 12-mile long paved pathway that extends from the boundary of Madison to the Withlacoochee River near the border with Florida in Madison County of Northern Florida. The trail follows alongside Route 145 for much of the way, but leaves the highway near Pinetta and follows alongside other local roadway.
The route includes residential neighborhoods, farmland and the thick forestland and natural areas along the Withlacoochee River.
Conditions
The Four Freedoms Trail is paved the entire way. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. The trail does follow alongside roadways for much of its route.
Communities
The Four Freedoms Trail goes past the following communities: Madison, Hanson and Pinetta.
End Points
The north end of the Four Freedoms Trail is located 2.7 miles north of Pinetta near the Florida / Georgia border.
The south end of the trail is located along Route 145 1/4 mile northeast of Rocky Ford Road to the northeast of Madison.
