The Santa Ana River Trail is a 20-mile long paved path that follows the riverbed of the Santa Ana river through Riverside and Colton in Southern California. The trail has exposure to the natural areas along the riverbed, has very few street crossings, goes past multiple parks along the way and has underpasses for crossing the major intersections.

Conditions

The Santa Ana River Trail is paved the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking.

The trail travels through natural areas away from streets and traffic and has few road crossings. The Santa Ana River Trail has underpasses for the following major roadways: Van Buren Boulevard, Mission Inn Avenue, Highway 60, S. Riverside Avenue, S. La Cadena Drive, S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Interstate 10 and Interstate 215.

End Points

The west end of the Santa Ana River Trail has two starting points. One is located off of Arlington Avenue across from Crestline Memorial Park. There are large parking areas within Hidden Valley Wildlife Area as well. The other starting point is at the end of Substation Road about 1/3 mile north of Arlington Avenue.

The east end of the Santa Ana River Trail is located at S. Waterman Avenue north of Interstate 10 in Colton.
