Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in Riverside, California
Riverside is located to the northeast of Orange County in Southern California. The city has one major recreational trail and several other trails located in the local parks.
Santa Ana River Trail
The Santa Ana River Trail is a 20-mile long paved path that follows the south banks of the San Ana River through the cities of Colton and Riverside. The trail goes past numerous parks, has very few streets crossings and has underpasses for crossing the major streets.
The west end of the trail is located on Arlington Avenue near the Hidden Valley Wildlife Area and Hidden Valley Nature Center. The east end of the Santa Ana River Trail is located at S. Waterman Avenue north of Interstate 10 in Colton.

Mt. Rubidoux Trail
The Mt. Rubidoux Trail is a 3-mile paved loop that wraps around Mt. Rubidoux Park along the Santa Ana River at Mission Inn Avenue. The park is adjacent to the Santa Ana River Trail. There are pretty views at the top of the whole valley. There are also hiking trails that wander about the hillside. To get to the paved trail, you must fo to the east side of Mt. Rubidoux. There is parking at Carlson Park and dirt trails to get to the top on the northwest side.
