The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is an 8-mile long paved pathway that wraps around Downtown Indianapolis and extends out to connect to several other recreational trails. The beautifully landscaped trail goes past many of the downtown landmarks, restaurants and White River State Park. The trail was conceived as a way to connect the many Cultural Districts in the area.
Conditions
The trail has been paved with colorful pavers and has lovely landscaping with many amenities for visitors and residents. The trail is open for bike riding and walking. There are several street crossings along the trail.
Highlights
One of the largest attractions along the trail is White River State Park. This large park is located on the shores of the White River on the southwest corner of Downtown Indianapolis. The park has numerous museums, walking paths, landscaped areas, a children's maze, White River Gardens, the Indianapolis Zoo, NCAA Hall of Champions and a bike and pedestrian bridge over the river.

Nearby Trails
Monon Trail: A branch of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail heads of to the east from downtown and meets the Monon Trail on E. 10th Street near the Interstate 70 interchange.
White River Greenway: At White River State Park, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail meets the White River Greenway.
Pleasant Run Trail: The Indianapolis Cultural Trail has a branch that reaches to the southeast and meets up with the Pleasant Run Trail at Shelby Street and E. Pleasant Run Parkway S Dr.
Canal Walk
The Canal Walk is a system of paved pathways that follows the Indiana Central Canal through the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. The north end of the walkway is located at W 11th Street and N. West Street near the Indiana University School of Medicine. The walk is situated on both sides of the canal allowing its users to bypass many ot the street intersections. The Canal Walk connects with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail in two locations, at N Blackford Street and at W. Walnut Street.
