Cardinal Greenway Trail
The Cardinal Greenway Trail is a paved trail system in two parts located in Eastern Indiana. The northerly portion is 10.5 miles long and stretches between Sweetser and Jonesboro. This portion meets up with the Sweetser Switch Trail to for a 13.5 mile long trail. There is a 14-mile long gap between the two trails. The southerly portion is 51.8 miles long and stretches between Gaston and Richmond, going through Muncie along the way. In Muncie, the portion of the Cardinal Greenway Trail intersects the White River Greenway that heads to the west and the east.
The Cardinal Greenway Trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad corridor. The trail goes through small cities, residential neighborhoods and miles of farmland and past rural communities.

White River Greenway Trail
The White River Greenway Trail is a 5.5-mile long paved pathway that spans between the intersection of W. River Road and S. Hawthorne Road and the John Craddock Wetland Nature Preserve on Burch Boulevard. The trail travels through the grassy areas and natural areas adjacent to the river. Within the enter of Muncie, the trail passes numerous parks along the river.
The White River Greenway Trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. For much of the route, the trail is located away from roadways and has underpasses for many of the major streets.
