The Denton Branch Rail Trail & A-Trail Rail Trail form a 12-mile long paved trail that extends from the middle of Denton to the community of Lewisville in North Central Texas. The trail parallels the existing railroad line for the A-Train between the two cities. The Denton Branch Rail Trail is also referred to as the A-Train Rail Trail.
Condtions
The Denton Branch Rail Trail is paved the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. The trail goes through urban areas, and has a number street level crossings at major roadways. The trail runs parallel to an active railroad line.

End Points
The north end of the Denton Branch Rail Trail is located on E. Hickory Street and Railroad Avenue, just east of Downtown Denton. This is also the location of the Eulene Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center for catching the A-Train. The trail follows the rail line and heads to the southeast.
The south end of the Denton Branch Rail Trail is located the Highlands Village Lewisville Lake Station at the interchange between N. Garden Ridge Boulevard and Interstate 35E.
