The White River State Trail is a 19-mile long unpaved pathway located in Southeastern Wisconsin. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and travels through the beautiful countryside of the Wisconsin farmland southeast of Milwaukee.
Conditions
The White River State Trail is unpaved with a surface of compacted crushed limestone. The trail is open for hiking and bike riding and allows dogs. Horseback riding is also allowed. The trail is open for snowmobiles when there is adequate snow.
A Wisconsin State Trail Pass is required for trail users over 16 years of age on bike or horseback.

Seven Waters Trail: The White River State Trail allows a connection to the Seven Waters Trail. Seven Waters Trail heads north from the north side of Burlington.

End Points
The west end of the White River State Trail is located at County Road H, south of Pinecrest Lane on the east side of Elkhorn.
There is a gap in the trail in Burlington. the western section of the trail ends at Spring Valley Road to the south of Highway 36. The eastern section of the trail ends along Bridge Street just south of E. State Street in Burlington.
The east end of the trail is located at Vandemboon Road. 0.6 miles south of Route 11 to the south of Eagle Lake.
