Wisconsin Rapids is located in the center of Wisconsin about 100 miles north of Madison. The city is situated along the Wisconsin River. Other communities in this area include: Port Edwards, Lake Wazeecha and Neskoosa.
The major recreational trails in Wisconsin Rapids are the Ahdawagam Blue Trail, the Ahdawagam Green Trail, the Ahdawagam Red Trail, the Wisconsin River Trail and the South Wood Country Park Trail.
Ahdawagam Blue Trail
The Ahdawagam Blue Trail is 4-mile long a paved pathway located to the west of the Wisconsin River. The trail extends between Highway 73 and Highway 54 in Port Edwards.
Ahdawagam Green Trail
The Ahdawagam Green Trail is a 6.5-mile long paved path that makes a loop through town. The north end is on the west side of the river near Reddin Road. The trail swings to the south alongside 4th Avenue N then alongside the Riverview Expressway. The southeast end of the trail is located at Kellner Road neat 48th Street S.
Ahdawagam Red Trail
The Ahdawagam Red Trail is a paved path that follows along the banks of the Wisconsin River. The south end of the trail is located at Hanson Park. The trail goes Lyons Park and intersects with the Green Trail at Riverside Expressway. The trail crosses the river at W. Grand Avenue and goes past Gaynor Park. The northeast end of the Ahdawagam Red Trail is located at 1st Street and Apricot Street.
Ahdawagam Purple Trail
The Ahdawagam Purple Trail is a 2-mile long paved path that follows alongside Plover Road from Spring Street to East Riverview Expressway. The nothend of the trail wraps around Robinson Park. The pathway intersects the Ahdawagam Green Trail at its south end.
Wisconsin River Trail
The Wisconsin River Trail is located in Port Edwards and Nekoosa. The trail stretches between Highway 54 and Market Street and goes past Riverside Park.
South Wood Country Park / South Park Trail
The South Park Trail is located in the community of Lake Wazeecha to the east of Wisconsin Rapids. There is a 3.7-mile long paved loop around the lake. The entrance to the park is located off of S. Park Road. A short portion of the loop requires that trail users travel along N. Park Road to get to the next section of the trail.
