The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail is a 93-mile long paved and unpaved pathway that extends from Cadillac to Grand Rapids in Central Michigan. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and the route takes trail users through same beautiful areas of Central Michigan and past multiple local communities. Fred Meijer White Pine State Park is the linear park that forms the corridor for the trail. The trail goes through thick forests, across wide open farmland and crosses several creeks and rivers with picturesque bridges.
Conditions
The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail is open for bicycles and hiking. The trail surface is natural ballast and hard packed gravel, with 13 miles of asphalt pavement from Reed City to Big Rapids and 7 miles of asphalt pavement from just north of Rockford to Belmont. The trail has few major road crossings.
