Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in Fremont, Michigan
Fremont is located in Newaygo County in Western Michigan, about 40 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. The city is situated in a rural part of the state with large expanses of farmland. The city sits to the northeast of Fremont Lake and south of the Manistee National Forest.
Fremont Town & Country Path
Fremont has a recreational trail system that extends through much of the city, allowing residents to travel about town for a bike ride, walking or commuting to work or school. The Fremont Town & Country Path runs along much of W. 44th Street, from Pathfinder Elementary School to Market Avenue. It then follows Market Avenue as far as Main Street. South of Main Street is goes through a pretty wooded section then west to S. Green Avenue. Another branch heads to the east along Locust Street and Oak Street then heads south along Lake Street, passing Fremont Middle School. The trail extends south to the shores of Fremont Lake near Fremont Lake Park.
