The Luce Line Regional Trail is an 8.8-mile long paved pathway that spans between Plymouth and Golden Valley on the western side of the Minneapolis metropolitan area.For most of its route, the trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and crosses the suburban areas to the west of Minneapolis. The trail goes through residential, commercial and industrial areas, past local parks, lakes and schools, past a number of lakes and connects to other regional recreational trails in this area.
Conditions
The Luce Line Regional Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, running and walking. There are some road crossings, bu the trail is located away from major streets and has underpasses and overpasses for many of the intersections.

Nearby Trails
Luce Line State Trail: the two trails meet at the western end of the Luce Line Regional Trail along Vicksburg Lane N at 10th Avenue N in Plymouth. The Luce Line State Trail continues for 63-miles to the west as far as the town of Cedar Mills.
Medicine Lake Regional Trail: The two trails meet on the east side of Medicine Lake and to the west of US Highway 169 in Plymouth.
Grand Rounds: the two trails meet at the eastern end of the Luce Line Regional Trail at Theodore Wirth Park north of Highway 55 in Golden Valley. The Grand Rounds takes a large loop around the Minneapolis area and heads to Downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River.
Bassett Creek Trail: this trail can be reached by taking the Grand Rounds trail.
End Points
The west end of the Luce Line Regional Trail is located along Vicksburg Lane N at 10th Avenue N in Plymouth.
The east end of the trail is located at Theodore Wirth Park north of Highway 55 in Golden Valley.
