Greeley is located out on the prairie in Northern Colorado. The city is situated to the south of the Cache la Poudre Trail and is home to the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College.
This area is the location of the Poudre River Trail and other local recreational trails located within the parks and neighborhoods.
Poudre River Trail
The Poudre River Trail is a 21-mile long paved pathway that extends from Island Grove Regional Park on the Northeast side of Greeley to west of Windsor. The trail travels through the natural areas alongside the Cache la Poudre River and goes past a number of local parks and residential neighborhoods along the way. The trail is wide and well maintained, open for bike riding, walking and running. Dogs are allowed if on a leash. The trail provides a great place to take the family as there are relatively few road crossings.
There are several trailheads in Greeley for the Poudre River Trail. The trailheads are located at Island Grove Regional Park, Poudre Ponds Fishery on N. 25th Avenue, Rover Run Dog Park on F Street, Poudre River Ranch Natural Area on N. 71st Avenue and the Poudre Learning Center along 83rd Avenue.The Poudre River Trail can also be accessed from Sheep Draw Trail.

Sheep Draw Trail
The Sheep Draw Trail is a 2.5-mile long paved path that starts at the Greeley Family FunPlex off of 65th Avenue then heads north to intersect the Poudre River Trail along 59th Avenue to the north of F Street. The Sheep Draw Trail travels through the natural areas along the creek going past Two Rivers Park and residential neighborhoods.
Larson Trail
The Larson Trail is a 1-mile long paved path on the north side of Greeley. The trail stretches between W. 4th Street and 43rd Avenue to F Street, 3/4 miles east of the Rover Run Dog Park and the Poudre River Trail.
