The Poudre River Trail is a 21-mile long paved pathway that stretches between the Town of Windsor and the City of Greeley in Northern Colorado. For the most part the trail is located in Weld County with the exception of the most western portion that is located in Larimer County. The west end of the trail is located 1.3 miles east of Interstate 25.
The trail travels for miles through the natural area alongside the Cache la Poudre River as it meanders across the high prairie. There are numerous lakes, ponds, wetlands and farms along the route. The trail also crosses through residential neighborhoods and parks within Windsor and goes past residential areas on the north side of Greeley.
The Poudre River Trail provides a great way to experience the natural areas of Northern Colorado. There are opportunities to see the native flora of the high prairie as well as the birds and animals that live in this riparian habitat.
Future plans for the trail inlcude extending it to the west for a connection with the Poudre Trail in Fort Collins.
Conditions
The Poudre River Trail is paved its entire route and is open for non-motorized uses such as bike riding, walking and running. The trail is wide and well maintained, is located away from traffic and congestion and has few road crossings.

End Points
The west end of the is located at River Bluffs Open Space along County Road 32 E, 1/4 mile east of S. County Road 3. There is parking and restrooms at this location.
Another trailhead is located along Weld County Road 13, 1/2 mile south of Highway 392 and to the west of Windsor. There is parking at this trailhead, but no restroom.
The east end of the trail is located along N 11th Avenue on the the east side of Island Grove Regional Park on the northeast side of Greeley.
