Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in St. Cloud, Minnesota
St Cloud is located in Central Minnesota, about 60 miles northwest of Downtown Minneapolis. The city is situated between the Sauk River and the Mississippi River and is surrounded by farmland and woodlands.
St. Cloud has a number of recreational trails that follow alongside roadways for getting about town on foot or bike. The Lake Wobegon Regional Trail stops at St. Joseph, which is about 6 miles to the west of St. Cloud. To the southwest of St. Cloud, there are other recreational trails, namely the Ricori Trail, the Glacial Lakes State Trail and the Lake Koronis Recreational Trail.
Lake Wobegon Regional Trail
The Lake Wobegon Regional Trail is a 49-mile long paved pathway that extends from the City of Osakis to the City of St. Joseph in Central Minnesota. This area is located to the northwest of St. Cloud. The trail was constucted on the abandoned railroad bed of the Burlington Northerrn Railroad. The route of the trail travels through open prairie land, woodlands, wetlands, multiple lakes, past farms, rural communities, schools and local parks.
